Mist Filters: Soften the Digital Look
Mist Filters scatter light in multiple directions, creating bloom around highlights and reducing the hard, clinical character of a digital image without overpowering the entire frame.
Gold Mist 1/2
The stronger of the two Mist Filters, optimized for direct and concentrated light. It creates a soft golden halo around highlights while carefully calibrated diffusion particles preserve overall sharpness and keep the effect focused where it matters most.
Black Mist 1/4
The subtler and more neutral option. It gives bright backgrounds a controlled glow, softens fine contrast and creates a more flattering rendering of skin while preserving natural skin tones, deeper blacks and image clarity.
Streak Filters: Turn Point Light Into Flares
Unlike Mist Filters, Streak Filters spread light along a single axis through fine parallel ridges, producing directional anamorphic-style flares from hard, concentrated light sources.
Gold Streak
Creates warm, golden flares from point light sources. A smaller, brighter source can produce a long and narrow streak, while a larger or more diffused source creates a thicker and softer result.
Blue Streak
Produces the classic blue horizontal flare associated with anamorphic cinema. Rotate the filter to reposition the streak, or partially obscure the light with buildings, foliage, blinds or hair to control its size and intensity.
The Light Source Determines the Result
None of these filters produces one fixed effect. Mist bloom becomes more visible as a source grows brighter and more concentrated, while scene contrast determines how clearly the softer micro-contrast can be seen. With Streak Filters, the source size and intensity shape the flare, and rotating the filter changes its direction across the frame.
Build the Effect Without Overpowering the Frame
The filters are designed to remain controlled rather than overly aggressive. For stronger diffusion, Gold Mist 1/2 and Black Mist 1/4 can be stacked together. In the comparison video, the 2x Telephoto Lens, 1–5 Variable ND, Gold Mist and Blue Streak are also combined in one setup: the lens creates the 48mm perspective and background separation, the VND controls shutter speed, the Gold Mist adds warm atmospheric bloom, and the Blue Streak introduces moving directional flares.
